Talking Blues at Ocala
We purchased Talking Blues as a yearling in 2007 and promptly sent him to trainer Jim Crupi’s farm in Ocala, Florida, where he absorbed lots of sunlight, calcium and good food, growing into a very good looking race horse. He had three second-place finishes for us in 2009.
On his fourth birthday, January 1st, 2010, Talking Blues won a maiden race at Aqueduct, cruising home 5 1/2 lengths ahead of the field!. That was also his first race for new trainer Bruce Brown. At the beginning of April, we decided to give Talking Blues a rest, after 18 months straight at the race track, and sent him for some R&R at Hunter’s Run Farm in Suffolk County, Long Island. He’s now back in training with Bruce Brown, pointing toward a race at Saratoga.
