Castle Village Farm’s Tom Cat Allie, hindered at the start, rallied late but could only get up to 6th in a six-furlong sprint at Saratoga on Saturday, July 28. We’ll enter him right back and stretch him out to a mile and an eighth in the 3rd at Saratoga on Thursday, Aug. 2. Ariel Smith has the ride for CVF trainer Bruce Brown.

Castle Village Farm’s new 2012 Claiming Partnership got its first horse on Saturday, July 28th, when we won a 12-way shake for the 6-year-old Crown the Chief. Crown the Chief finished 2nd in the 4th race at Saratoga on Saturday and now moves to CVF trainer Bruce Brown’s barn.

Castle Village Farm’s newest claim, 4-year-old Megalithic, is entered in the 9th race at Belmont on Friday, July 13th. The race is a $20,000 claimer at 7 furlongs on the turf, for horses that have never won three races. Javier Castellano rides for CVF trainer Bruce Brown.

Megalithic, who has a career record of 12-2-1-2, was claimed out of his winning effort on June 7th against $20,000 N2L foes. He steps up to the next claiming level on Friday and looks competitive.
