Castle Village Farm’s four-year-old Speightstown colt Rigby is entered in Aqueduct’s 1st race on Friday, March 25. It’s a starter allowance for horses that have run for a $50,000 claiming price or less and that haven’t won a race other than maiden, claiming or restricted. The distance is a mile and 70 yards, for a purse of $42,000.
We claimed Rigby from Padua Stables and trainer Steve Asmussen on February 11th. In his first start in our colors, he had traffic trouble, had to go four-wide, and just missed winning by 3/4 of a length, finishing 3rd. On Friday, he gets regular CVF rider David Cohen. That and the small field should lead to a cleaner trip.
