Castle Village Farm’s three-year-old gelding Metrology finished a fast-closing 3rd in Saturday’s 5th race at Belmont, his first since we claimed him on September 12th. Metrology, as is his wont, trailed the field down the backstretch, as much as nine lengths off the leaders, then picked up the pace on the turn and flew through the stretch, missing the win by only two lengths. With a little quicker early pace to soften up the leaders, or with another hundred yards of racetrack, he would have made the lead.

Was a very good race. (Your claims do impress). Would be nice to see him wheeled right back.
Will be at the NYTOBA “Lunch/Outing” on Sat 10-23-10 at Belmont, for NYB Day; hope to see you there.
