Our four-year-old colt Strings and Arrows, making his second start off a seven-month layoff, ran a solid 4th in Aqueduct’s 7th race today, gaining ground through the stretch. The race was at six furlongs, which is shorter than we wanted, but NYRA hasn’t been using any two-turn maiden races for older horses. So we entered here and got a solid performance that reinforces our belief that Strings and Arrows will do better as the distances lengthen out. In any event, Aqueduct had a huge speed bias today, so our colt’s closing effort was even more impressive.
